Job Overview
The Marketing Event Specialist, Senior is responsible for planning, development, and execution of event initiatives/projects based on established objectives, strategies, and tactics. Additional responsibilities include budget management, developing processes and metrics, project management, adhering to QUALCOMM brand guidelines, agency selection and management, third party partner management, and working cross-functionally (including international offices).
Job Responsibilities
Works with compliance, legal, brand, and other internal entities to make sure all events are managed according to their guidelines
Coordinates all shipments for events, working with internal customers and import/export teams to ensure all proper shipping documentation is met
Negotiates and implements contracts with vendors and hotels
Manages tradeshow and events warehouse and prepare products needed for each show when applicable
Attends managed shows when applicable to ensure set up, tear down, and show is executed accordingly
Facilitates pre-show meetings and post-show reports
Sends detailed show briefs to internal team and stakeholders prior to event
Minimum Qualifications
Three to five years experiential marketing and/or event planning experience
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Small-scale events and tradeshow coordination experience
Project coordination experience in a marketing/sales organization
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Must be flexible and able to prioritize responsibilities
Excellent communication and creative problem-solving skills
Must be a strategic thinker and strong executer of tactical plans
Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple stakeholders and diverse scope
Frequently interacts with employees, customers, and agencies
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum four years experiential marketing and/or event planning experience
Strong planning skills
Excellent written and verbal and strong presentation skills
Strong project management skills
Strong attention to detail
Able to handle multiple priorities
Able to work independently while having strong interpersonal skills to work on cross-functional teams
Strong creative and analytical skills
BA or BS in marketing or business

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
Associate's degree and 4+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
