What will you do:

  • As a Software Systems Integration Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a major role in the development of a highly automated integration test environment and execution of system integration testing for complex distributed systems and solutions for industrial automation. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of projects and the delivery of high-quality solutions to our industrial customers. With a focus on new product developments across automation, energy transition and AI, we need a Software Systems Integration Engineer to apply a broad range of skills to improving the productivity of the development team and adding value to our software products, while actively contributing to ensuring high quality standards are maintained. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of our technological capabilities and the success of our business.
  • You will report directly to our Senior Software Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Sydney, Australia location on a Hybrid work schedule.
  • In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain test infrastructure including test design & automation, supporting software solutions & tools, and maintaining test systems.
  • Design, create, maintain, and document complex system configurations and simulation tools to support functional and performance testing.
  • Conduct system integration testing to ensure the functionality and performance of systems.
  • Work on product enhancements to improve robustness of deployment, observability and troubleshooting of on-prem and cloud deployed production systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of industrial projects.

You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in software systems engineering or a related role and familiar with software engineering principles and practices such as analysis, design, coding, testing and support of software.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, with C/C++ and Python experience highly regarded.

We Value

Understanding of system architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices, particularly for high performance mission critical Industrial Control System, DCS or SCADA systems.

  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, and their deployment.
  • Experience in problem solving and debugging issues with complex systems that include a broad mix of networking, operating system, database, and software technologies, across established and new software products and components.
  • Experience with software test automation processes, deployment, tools and implementation.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and improvements and implement effective solutions.

Strong attention to detail and ability to drive the software engineering discipline to deliver high quality work and meet product release goals.
