Reporting to the rail civils team lead, you will drive the delivery of railway civils projects to meet our clients greatest challenges whilst ensuring technical excellence and delivery.
The role will be hybrid working principally based in either our Glasgow or Birmingham offices. Additionally, the role will require the ability to travel in line with business needs.
Responsibilities
- Carry out the design and checking roles and lead on sub packages of rail civils deliverables, reporting to the rail civils team lead.
- Working closely with the rail civils leads you will support to ensuring internal and contractor’s design/construction/specialists’ personnel have the correct competencies.
- Support on managing Rail Civils engineering activities on allocated projects so that they result in schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner for time, cost and quality.
- Provide support in respect of all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision.
- Support the rail civils team lead on monitoring design and specialist consultants and contractors.
- Identify and help to share best practice across all project teams.
- Degree/HNC or relevant experience;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Good communicator
- An understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of work.
- Knowledge of CDM, CSM-RA, risk assessment, engineering management competency.
- A working knowledge of Network Rail and other client Standards
- Knowledge of project development for rail Civils, NR approval processes and deliverables criteria for Rail Civils schemes.
- Knowledge of quality assurance
