What you need to know about the role:
As the Director of Design, PayPal Ads you will oversee the design strategy for our advertising products. You will lead a team of designers and collaborate closely with partners in a matrixed org across the PayPal and Venmo portfolio to create user-centered ad experiences that drive engagement and effectiveness. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of our advertising experiences.
In your day to day you will:
Leads UX efforts within a cross-functional team, including strategic Influence on product direction, planning, participating in delivery, presenting effectively to stakeholders up to executive level.
Collaborates with senior leaders and stakeholders to align design goals with business objectives.
Leads a team of designers, championing best practices in process and methodology to deliver against business KPIs and customer needs.
Coaches the usage of an established design system, style guides, patterns and assets in the creation of UX deliverables.
Manages workflow, intake, and design resourcing effectively, responding to business needs and priorities.
Finds and develops world class design talent and is effective in coaching and growing designers.
Actively contributes to the wider design community, leveraging strengths to help others develop and learn, while fostering a culture of innovation and creativity within the design organization.
What do you need to bring:
10+ years of experience in product design, with at least 5 in management, and a substantial focus on advertising solutions and/or digital commerce.
A portfolio of work, showcasing significant contributions in delivering strategic business outcomes, and a high bar for design excellence.
Extensive leadership and strategic planning experience. Deep expertise in UX/UI design, interaction design, and design thinking.
Proven track record of managing large, complex design projects.
Advanced proficiency with design tools and methodologies.
Thorough knowledge of essential channels and platforms, with experience in mobile, dedicated, web and native solution design.
