What You’ll Do
  • Develop control and estimation algorithms for thermal management of the battery, power electronics, heat pump and actuators, to deliver optimal controls in terms of performance, efficiency and reliability
  • Develop control-oriented MATLAB/Simulink system models and use them to refine control strategies and drive their implementation
  • Write thermal control requirements for existing and next generations of energy products
  • Analyze fleet and test data to identify issues and recommend improvements
  • Prepare technical reports and summaries for stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally with product, firmware, mechanical design, and reliability organizations
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience with thermal system controls and/or testing
  • Excellent understanding of Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, and thermal components (pumps, compressors, expansion valves, fans, etc.)
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and C(reading code)
  • Have knowledge in linear systems analysis, estimation algorithm design, and controls theory
  • Demonstrated ability to ground-up design, analyze, and implement control systems in real-world applications
  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface performance issues within complex HW/SW systems
  • Preferred: Experience in working with hardware and/or test-benches to evaluate thermal system performance
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and execute on open-ended projects in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
