Develop control and estimation algorithms for thermal management of the battery, power electronics, heat pump and actuators, to deliver optimal controls in terms of performance, efficiency and reliability
Develop control-oriented MATLAB/Simulink system models and use them to refine control strategies and drive their implementation
Write thermal control requirements for existing and next generations of energy products
Analyze fleet and test data to identify issues and recommend improvements
Prepare technical reports and summaries for stakeholders
Work cross-functionally with product, firmware, mechanical design, and reliability organizations
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering, or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience with thermal system controls and/or testing
Excellent understanding of Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, and thermal components (pumps, compressors, expansion valves, fans, etc.)
Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and C(reading code)
Have knowledge in linear systems analysis, estimation algorithm design, and controls theory
Demonstrated ability to ground-up design, analyze, and implement control systems in real-world applications
Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface performance issues within complex HW/SW systems
Preferred: Experience in working with hardware and/or test-benches to evaluate thermal system performance
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and execute on open-ended projects in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
