Develop and execute automated and manual tests to validate thermal system performance across various operating conditions
Work closely with control and firmware engineers to validate and improve thermal control algorithms for all energy products
Perform system validation of current and next generation Tesla Energy products
Analyze fleet and test data to identify issues and recommend improvements
Validate thermal system simulation results with experimental data
Prepare technical reports and test summaries for stakeholders
Work cross-functionally with controls, firmware, mechanical design, and reliability organizations
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering, or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience with thermal system integration
Excellent understanding of Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, and thermal components (pumps, compressors, expansion valves, fans, etc.)
Experience in working with hardware and/or test-benches to evaluate thermal system performance, as well as firmware integration
Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems
Proficiency with Python (read/write) and C (read)
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally, work hands-on, and execute on open-ended projects in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment
Preferred: Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, CAN tools (PCAN, CANape, CANalyzer), and data acquisition (DAQ) systems
