Specific responsibilities include

  • Works on multiple assignments simultaneously and in all areas of a standard project in the area of responsibility related to managing and mitigating Xoom financial loss caused by fraud risk (ACH returns, card chargeback and account take-over).
  • Accountable for own results. Reviews are mainly for consultation and sharing ideas
  • Focuses primarily on how to achieve overall analytic objectives of a project with speed and quality.
  • Suggests ideas for operational and analytical plans and objectives
  • Clear subject matter expert who can help mentor and coach junior risk analysts or data scientist
  • Works independently and proficiently on multiple assignments simultaneously with speed and quality
  • Has working knowledge of internal and external business processes, and data, systems and flows, as well as analytic tools, processes, and methodologies to achieve the expected results with minimum supervision
  • Has a good understanding of Risk business trends and directions to be able to put own work in the broad business context
  • Identify glitches in processes and tools and develop and execute solutions to overcome general issues and obstacles with little supervision.
  • Learning in-depth analysis of alternatives and applying specialized knowledge
  • Impact of decision has moderate reach
  • Seeks improvement within defined tasks. Understands, evaluates, and executes improvement ideas from supervisors.
  • Build robust risk abnormally detections and critical risk signals to identify fraud patterns at early stage
  • Partner with key stakeholders to design new risk platform to ensure better quality of risk strategies

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Mathematics, or closely related quantitative discipline plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in the field of data analysis or statistical analysis
  • OR Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Mathematics or closely related quantitative discipline plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of data analysis or statistical analysis.

Skill Requirements:

  • Segmentation strategies based on statistical modeling
  • Data analysis and visualization (Tableau or Power BI is preferred)
  • Machine learning and AI
  • Python
  • SQL, BigQuery
  • Executive/Senior Manager presentation skills
  • Story telling skills
