Role Responsibilities:

  • Program management in development of new controls or processes associated with complex Audit and/or regulatory issues requiring cross-functional coordination
  • Project / change management for key initiatives associated with GM Control Programs Group
  • Manage FLU processes related to key control programs, including but not limited to Horizon Risk process
  • Design, build and improve controls
  • Develop and implement reporting routines, including exception based reporting to front-line unit supervisors and Business Control Officers (BCOs)
  • Optimize and drive efficiency by implementing processes / routines offshore where appropriate
  • Identify and execute ongoing process improvements, including technology based solutions (inclusive of defining requirements and completing UAT) and automation opportunities
  • Identify and properly escalate potential issues
  • Develop performance metrics, KRIs and monitor performance
  • Communicate relevant updates to BCOs, Business Controls Management and key stakeholders regarding issues and key deliverables
  • Work closely with Control Program Group and LOB Business Controls partners to implement the processes associated with control programs

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in front-line until controls, trade control, risk management (business, compliance, operational risk, audit) and/or strategic initiatives
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Must be able to own/understand a process from end-to-end, be able to identify weaknesses in the process and identify/implement solutions, be able to challenge others on the facts of the process
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to simplify complex information into messages targeted to various levels of leadership as well accurately interpret communications fromBCOs/Supervisors/Corporateand OperationalRisk/Audit/Regulators
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates focused desire to drive improvements versus relying on “status quo”
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to assess and determine when to raise concerns and escalate
  • Ability to conceptualize, develop, and deliver quality analysis and highly actionable management information
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple competing/concurrent activities
  • Must be able to deliver accurate results with limited direction and supervision
  • Must be self-motivated and results oriented with strong desire to succeed
  • Must be able to work with technical teams and translate technical concepts to business audiences
  • Must be able to work well in collaborative team environment, but also independently
  • Proficient in data aggregation, integration, analysis, and reporting Excellent project/program management skills
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint presentation skills


Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Tableau or Alteryx a plus
