The Construction Manager works directly with the Resident Engineers, Chief of Agreements & Utilities, JOC Coordinators and other construction staff in planning and allocating Field Inspectors and/or other construction inspection staff for projects executed under the CIP (Capital Improvement Program) and JOC (Job Order Contracting Program). Completes needs analysis for various projects to plan and allocate appropriate resources for project completion. Works closely with the Manager of Construction and the Resident Engineer offices, Chief of Agreements & Utilities, and JOC Coordinators in developing project objectives/plans, setting performance requirements, implementing project controls, and selecting project participants. Develops and administers plans and policies for training and managing inspection staff to include Field Inspectors and/or other MARTA construction personnel. Prepares construction management annual budgets and monitors the monthly construction management costs/project progress.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Chief of Construction Management works directly with the Resident Engineers, Chief of Agreements & Utilities, JOC Coordinators and other construction staff in planning and allocating Field Inspectors and/or other construction inspection staff for projects executed under the CIP (Capital Improvement Program) and JOC (Job Order Contracting Program).
  • Assist with planning overall construction management activities working closely with the Manager of Construction and the Resident Engineer offices, Chief of Agreements & Utilities, and JOC Coordinators in developing project objectives/plans, setting performance requirements, and selecting project participants
  • Develops and administers plans and policies for training and managing inspection staff to include Field Inspectors and/or other MARTA construction personnel.
  • Prepares construction management annual budgets and monitors the monthly construction management costs/project progress.
  • Performs other duties/projects as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Drafting/preparing construction management and inspection policies and procedures.
  • Review and understand contract documents as well as the as-built documentation.
  • Well-developed verbal, writing, analytical, problem solving, and planning skills are required.
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field is required.
  • PMP, PE Certified

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Six years of experience in Construction Management to include planning/scheduling, budgeting, and personnel management.
  • Work experience must include drafting/preparing construction management and inspection policies and procedures.
  • Must be familiar with construction inspection methods and requirements, and able to review and understand contract documents as well as the as-built documentation.
