Our International Tax and Transaction Service (ITTS) group provides a wide range of tax services for clients within a variety of industries and helps clients identify and address complex domestic and international tax issues and assists them in strategically aligning different areas of taxation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a wide range of tax advisory services on international tax advisory engagements, tax structuring, cross-border/M&A transactions, and ad hoc projects
- Address complex Hong Kong/China/ international corporate tax issues and assists clients in strategically aligning different areas of taxation. Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations.
- Help to build and maintain client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business.
- Develop and guide junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals.
- Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations.
- Build strong internal relationships within the ITTS and broader tax teams and across other services.
- Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery
To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor degree and ideally a Professional accountancy qualification (accounting or tax)
- 2 - 4 years of tax experience (including tax advisory) in a professional firm / Big 4 firm or as inhouse-tax advisor
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as staff accountant
- Team player with strong oral and writing communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines
- Experience working in international tax or on M&A transactions or cross-border transactions is preferred, but not essential
- Fluent English (proficiency in Mandarin, Cantonese or any other foreign language is a plus)
