Join Jacobs in Kuala Lumpur and contribute to creating a more connected, sustainable world. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you'll be part of our Energy & Power team, working on innovative projects that challenge the accepted and aim higher.
In this role, you'll:
- Manage and deliver transmission line projects, focusing on design, documentation, and client satisfaction
- Utilize your expertise in PLS-CADD, TOWER, and POLE software for line design and modelling
- Provide technical leadership in key areas such as route selection, line profiling, sag/tension calculations, and conductor selection
- Review contractor designs and prepare capital cost estimates
- Conduct field activities including site inspections and construction monitoring
- Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to meet project deliverables and schedules
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the transmission line practice
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering, registered with the Board of Engineers in Malaysia
- With significant experience in overhead transmission line engineering
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD, TOWER, and POLE software
- Strong project management skills, with a focus on delivery, resourcing, and financials
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively and provide guidance to team members
- Experience in developing engineering proposals and fee estimates
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering structural engineering projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and innovation
- Must have work rights status for Malaysia
