As a Data Governance Officer in the Corporate & Investment Bank Operation team you will support and develop the Data Governance strategy and Data Control environment for JPMSE. As such, you will report to the JPMSE Head of Data Governance.

You will cover Data Governance across all lines of business and functions present in JPMSE. Additionally, you will collaborate with various local stakeholders as well as regional/global teams to ensure integrity, privacy and security of data in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job responsibilities

Data Governance

  • Support execution of Data Governance projects within JPMSE, support decision making processes, review emerging risks and support escalations
  • Develop requirements for JPMSE views of Firmwide Data Risk Metrics
  • Review JPMSE Firmwide Data Risk Metrics and support escalation to appropriate JPMSE governing bodies to raise awareness of the risk and facilitate bringing metrics under their threshold

Data Risk Management

  • Support implementation and enhancement of JPMSE Data Risk Framework (Data Quality, Protection & Privacy, Storage, Retention & Destruction)
  • Promote adherence to the firmwide Data Use framework at the JPMSE level

Reporting and Documentation

  • Document Data Governance processes, policies and procedures
  • Prepare reports, presentations and other supporting materials for Data Governance projects
  • Assist in development of data governance training materials and conduct training sessions
  • Maintain records of data issues and resolution

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in the financial services industry, alternatively Big 4 experience
  • First experience in highly matrixed organization, with knowledge of data governance
  • Experience in driving regulatory assessments and working on regulatory implementation, e.g. BCBS 239, EU AI Act, GDPR
  • Excellent organization & planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to succinctly communicate messages to various levels of the organization
  • Ability to translate business context into key messages relevant for the legal entity
  • Team player with ability to build & maintain productive working relationships with colleagues globally at all levels and across functions in order to achieve results
  • Education to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Fluency English

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • German will be considered a plus
