Job Description:Client Platform Architecture group within Client Computing Group business of Intel Corp. is seeking an experienced platform hardware architect to drive the development of next generation Mobile Mainstream platform hardware requirements and definition.
Platform Hardware Architect helps to define product segmentation, define key requirements to integrate into leadership platforms, and lead teams to investigate platform ingredient TRs (Technical Readiness). You will be in a matrixed leadership role, helping to focus work throughout Intel so that platforms can eventually be integrated into a portfolio of leadership OEM products that deliver end user experiences people will love.
As a Platform Hardware Architect responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Drive SoC requirements and platform definition based on outside in system requirements.
- Drive extended matrixed team to deliver to major program milestones such as Product Concept and Execution Commit.
- Ensure that the Client System architecture team is effectively on track to Product Milestones.
- Own the system requirements and architecture document for target platforms, work with the Mobile Product Architect on setting and achieving silicon and platform targets.
- Drive and guide hardware technologist team to drive system level integration of Tech Readiness Studies (TRs) including platform trade-off analysis through the platform planning and execution process
- Drive high level platform BOM and BOM cost for mainstream platform
- Understand the business and market needs and key customer strategies of the overall mobile swim lane and mainstream segment.
- Develop strong customer ties with key OEM architects, drive architectural discussions and deep dive on customer designs and understand key challenges and future aspirations.
- Use system and competitive data (may include hands-on teardown) on Intel and competitor designs to predict future trend and risks (feature, performance, BOM,etc) in the segment.
Qualifications:Candidates should possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of experience in platform development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
- Experience in platform, package, PCB, hardware requirement in clients system.
- Modeling Platform Trading elements among performance, power, BOM cost, compatibility, reuse, UX, suppliers availability in ecosystem.
- Familiarity with platform ingredients and their electrical, thermal, mechanical, PD design constraints and requirements
- Understanding of clients hardware ecosystem and competition
- Knowledge of new incoming technology to clients system, ie WIFI8, Memory sub system, NVMe, display, camera, CIO, AIPC.
