Description
As an Engineering Manager, you will be leading a team of Engineers and guiding the development of innovative and complex features in a fast-paced environment. The role requires:Hands-on Technical management and strategic vision to build next-generation software systemsYou should have experience shipping and troubleshooting commercial quality, consumer-oriented software. Strong knowledge of web services architecture and distributed systems at scale, developing a comprehensive strategy for performance testing, measurement, monitoring, and analysis, and ability to make quick decisions in production issues.Experienced in instilling a defensive programming culture across a large engineering organization.You have strong planning and execution skills.You have strong software engineering skills and can act as an arbitrator for challenging technical debates.Ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships, including product managers, development teams, and senior leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or MS in computer science or equivalent experience with at least 5+ years in leading a development team
- Experience in Java, Web Services, AWS, and Database technologies
- Experience in C, C++, and Swift is a bonus
Preferred Qualifications
- Passion for product ownership and being able to dive deep as needed to facilitate technical strategy trade-offs and zoom out to understand the big picture to shape the product
- Able to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams such as other Engineering organizations, product management
- Experience hiring strong technical talent while maintaining the team culture
- Consistent track record of mentoring and helping engineers grow their careers
- Self-directed: the ability to drive a project from a simple idea to production
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
