In this role, you will:
- Provide legal advice related to commercial deposits, treasury management services, and payments systems issues
- Represent clients in the Corporate & Investment Bank in highly complex negotiations and claims, often involving sophisticated financial institution counterparties
- Draft and review complex legal documents, including cash management agreements, deposit account control agreements, and treasury management service documentation
- Serve as legal SME for various commercial payment and liquidity management products
- Advise clients regarding existing, new and modified treasury management products and services and emerging payments systems matters
- Participate in industry advocacy efforts relating to deposits and payments matters, including drafting and reviewing comment letters
- Identify and analyze complex legal issues, develop conclusions, and make recommendations for issue resolution
- Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced employees
- Work directly with business clients and partners in the Corporate & Investment Bank and Global Payments & Liquidity organizations and develop an in-depth understanding of business unit activities and products
- Partner with business leaders and management of other corporate departments, including Enterprise Functions and Independent Risk Management to develop and implement risk management programs
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the UnitedStates
Desired Qualifications.
- Experience as a practicing attorney in financial services and familiarity with Regulation CC and UCC articles 3, 4 and 4A, Federal Reserve, FDIC and other federal banking regulations, and payment system rules (e.g., Nacha, RTP, Fedwire/CHIPS) highly desired
- Experience providing legal support in the commercial payments space
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective organizational, client management, and prioritization skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines
Pay Range
$159,000.00 - $305,000.00
