• Leading and supervising a team of manufacturing process engineers
• Ensuring that engineering deliverables are aligned with the goals and timelines of the plant
• Supporting Compliant, Safe, and Sustainable process improvements
• Commissioning, qualifying, and supporting manufacturing processes
• Developing the technical abilities of the manufacturing process engineering team
• Fostering an environment of continuous improvement by leveraging Lean Six Sigma
• Collaborating with cross functional partners such as product engineering, quality, plant engineering and resident engineering, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
• Leading and continually developing self and others at multiple levels of the organization through supervision, providing recognition, policy administration, continuous coaching for improvement and participation in hiring processes.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
• Five (5) combined years of engineering and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Experience leading and coaching Six Sigma Green Belt projects and/or improvement projects (kaizens).

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience supervising engineers in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams
• Experience with 3M automation technology and processes
• Ability to effectively use statistics in analyzing process data
