What the Candidate Will Do

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to Uber's multiple business units on a wide range of product and commercial legal issues,
  • Act as a legal generalist while providing specialist support to clients and legal members in selected areas of expertise,
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements, and other legal documents,
  • Conduct research, analysis and written legal opinions on various commercial and product legal issues,
  • Stay up-to-date on legal developments and industry trends and provide legal training to Uber employees,
  • Advise on applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards across Latin America,
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks and exposure for Uber.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Uber to ensure legal compliance and support business objectives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Law Degree and licensed to practice law in Mexico
  • 5+ years of experience as In-House Counsel or as Junior Counsel at a law firm
  • Experience in commercial contracts and legal review of products, marketing, advertising, and promotions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to translate complex legal issues and ambiguity into clear and simple advice, to communicate effectively with cross-functional colleagues
  • Innovative thinking and a desire to take the initiative and think two steps ahead
  • Passion for the legal field and a desire to learn and grow
  • Commitment to providing high-quality legal services to clients
  • Advanced proficiency in English and fluent Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in other legal areas related to new legal trends such as Generative AI, Legal Design, etc.
