What you'll do...

As a Principal Software Engineer on the Walmart Commerce Technologies team, you will have the unique opportunity to commercialize mature enterprise systems and enable them for a whole industry of retailers. You will assess feasibility and help bring to market build new SaaS products that are based on current internal systems.

What you'll do:

• Design systems and technical strategies to create new SaaS products out of existing large-scale systems.
• Make key technology decisions that will enable long term success while meeting immediate needs of our customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the feasibility of commercialization and our go-to-market approach.
• Identify cross-product platform needs and build into our roadmap.
• Provide technical leadership for other engineers and set best practices as we grow our team.
• Understand the entire system end to end and break down complex tasks for the team.
• Diagnose and resolve system and reliability issues.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Background in retail-tech, SaaS, or building multi-tenant platforms or services.
• Expertise with technologies such as Java, Spring frameworks, React, NodeJS, SQL Databases
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Experience working with large scale systems and event driven architectures.
• Strong communications and collaboration skills.
