What you'll do...
As a Principal Software Engineer on the Walmart Commerce Technologies team, you will have the unique opportunity to commercialize mature enterprise systems and enable them for a whole industry of retailers. You will assess feasibility and help bring to market build new SaaS products that are based on current internal systems.
What you'll do:
- Design systems and technical strategies to create new SaaS products out of existing large-scale systems.
- Make key technology decisions that will enable long term success while meeting immediate needs of our customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the feasibility of commercialization and our go-to-market approach.
- Identify cross-product platform needs and build into our roadmap.
- Provide technical leadership for other engineers and set best practices as we grow our team.
- Understand the entire system end to end and break down complex tasks for the team.
- Diagnose and resolve system and reliability issues.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Background in retail-tech, SaaS, or building multi-tenant platforms or services.
- Expertise with technologies such as Java, Spring frameworks, React, NodeJS, SQL Databases
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Experience working with large scale systems and event driven architectures.
- Strong communications and collaboration skills.
