At Jacobs our HVAC team provides a range of skills as part of an integrated building services design. The engineer will be responsible for providing system design: calculations and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external). The engineer will take ownership of the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the work assigned to you. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to work on complex projects in conjunction with a technical team. When you join us, you’ll be responsible for the following: • Assists in determining project schedules, manpower requirements, and budgets • Survey existing conditions for renovation projects • Prepares drawings detailing the system designed, including supervision of junior staff and HVAC designers. • Develops basic HVAC calculations: e.g., cooling load calculations, fan and pump pressure calculations. • Selects HVAC equipment • Prepares energy compliance calculations and forms • Coordinates work with engineers of other disciplines and architects • Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspection reports • Assists in processing contractor requests for information and change orders At Jacobs, we’re partnering across the globe to create the best project outcomes by maximizing the design, digital technology, and support capabilities of our Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teammates. • Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing required
• Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork required
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure • Experience in designing HVAC systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing, research or data centers
Ideally, you'll have:
• Experience working in a consulting engineering environment preferred
• Experience in Revit preferred
