What a typical day looks like:
- Demonstrates and understanding of customer requirements, offer suggestions and ideas on how best to deliver automation solutions.
- Develop manufacturing processes.
- Responsible for specifying, engineering and implementing new material handling and Assembly automation equipment in a medical device manufacturing environment.
- Responsible for conceiving, specifying or designing and implementing modifications and improvements existing material handling and assembly automation equipment in a medical device environment.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop requirements and specifications for new equipment ormodification/improvements.
- Manage and coordinate equipment vendors starting with design through commissioning.
- Plan and lead acceptance testing and support validation activities
- Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides for automated equipment and automated processes.
- Troubleshooting support during machine commissioning and ramp up, as well as occasional support of existing operations in areas where Subject Matter Expert is needed.
- Should prepare why-why analysis & drive for permanent corrective actions.
- Work with vendors and plant maintenance to ensure all automation equipment has appropriate spare parts, and a robust Preventive Maintenance plan.
- Requires an Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics.
- Requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software program to create schematics or drawings.
- Lean Six Sigma/DRM Green Belt
- Medical device manufacturing experience and documentation skills
- Previous experience with several of the following devices: pneumatics, conveyors, variety of sensors, robots, AMR, vision inspection systems, HMI and PLC
- Integration experience with custom automation or turn-key solutions
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external functional teams verbally, in writing, and via presentations.
- Ability to learn new technologies.

Pay Range (Applicable to Illinois) $80,400.00 USD - $110,500.00 USD AnnualProduction Engineering
