In this role, you will:
- Perform diligence, analysis and underwriting of alternative investment funds which are the form of collateral or part of the custom loan structure
- Work with internal risk management ongoing approval and inclusion as collateral of alternative investment funds
- Monitor alternative investment funds on an ongoing basis, perform collateral reviews, coordinate all fund ratings and analysis with broader Wells Fargo, including CIB partners
- Develop subject matter expertise in the Alternatives Asset industry
- Responsible for the efficient and timely analysis and underwriting of highly complex loan structures, financial and collateral circumstances
- Responsible for highly complex credit structuring and communicating recommendations verbally and in writing
- Drive private banking credit execution to deliver high quality custom credit solutions to existing and new clients while meeting goals for asset quality, banking revenue, and profitability
- Regularly monitor existing portfolio and communicate findings and recommended solutions to management in a timely manner. This will assist with leadership decisions in credit risk management and ensure credit portfolio satisfactory risk exams
- Meet with clients in partnership with a Custom Credit Banker in a client advisory role and in credit negotiations, as required
- Provide leadership and guidance to others.
- Exercise independent judgment and work with no direct supervision
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Wealth Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- A background in fund/ alternative investment fund due diligence, counterparty credit risk management, fund underwriting, fund credit risk
- Background in wealth & commercial lending/underwriting is preferred. Familiarity with collateral including alternative assets.
- Ability to monitor a portfolio on an ongoing basis.
- Be a subject matter expert in alternative investment funds, the market, and ongoing factors that affect these funds.
- Thorough knowledge of financial accounting theory and logic, loan structuring, and banking products and services
- Excellent credit skills: ability to develop, negotiate, and document a broad range of loan types, structures, and complex requests
- Demonstrated ability to make sound, independent business and credit decisions
- Ability to independently negotiate/structure legal documents with the use of external counsel.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and partnering skills
