Trade Compliance Senior Advisor
As a, you will lead complex import/export activities for Philippines.
You will:
- A good Import and Export professional with minimum 8+ years of experience in the related field having worked preferably for a multinational company, in trade compliance function.
- Leads complex import/export activities for defined country or region. Works directly with freight forwarder/customers broker to provide paperwork and relevant information to partners/customers.
- Is a subject matter expert and is responsible for escalations with local customs or tax authorities Is a subject matter expertise on more complex deals involving specific region or country laws/regulations and ensures more complex compliance regulations are met
- Generally focuses on import/export compliance across all lines of business for all policies, customs regulations, processes and system changes with regards to field inventory and logistics management and holds a greater accountability for coaching and mentoring team members
- Interacts with more senior compliance counterparts in various countries to present relevant reporting on performance measures and business operations. Makes key decisions on daily activities and provides input into the strategic decisions to implement solutions after manager sign off
- Applies job knowledge in resolving escalated issues/ Has advance knowledge of the handling of export compliance, export licensing and order screening
Essential Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in direct import and/or export compliance experience in a major corporation, service company, or law firm with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
- Advanced knowledge of Customs compliance regulations; Advanced understanding of the complexities and requirements of international business; Advanced ability to interpret and conceptualize guidelines of customs compliance;
- Knowledge on Philippines commodity policies
- Demonstrated skills in resolving complex compliance/business requirements; Analytical skills, be detail oriented, and possess the ability to anticipate problems and diffuse situations;
- The ability to function both as a team member and individual player with the ability to shift priorities as required by the global trade compliance team and business operations
- Strong project management and computer skills (emphasis on Microsoft Office programs) is required with fluency in PowerPoint is preferred.
- Fluency in English language is required, additional fluency in one or more local non-English language(s) is preferred; Excellent interpersonal skill, in both written and oral
Desirable Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related majors, Law, International Trade, Logistics, Business Administrative are preferred
- Advanced degree is preferred (MBA, Law, International Trade, Logistics, etc.)
