Your impact

The role will involve overseeing that the Contractor (and their Subcontractors) construction work is executed in accordance with the project contract drawings and specifications. Working under general supervision of a Lead Contract Administrator, you will apply construction administration techniques, procedures, and criteria for the successful delivery of construction assignments. As contract administrator you will interface with the Jacobs team, in particular the project manager, site inspector, lead contract administrator, and the engineering team.

Some of your key tasks will include:

  1. Monitoring construction activities to verify that the quality of materials and workmanship is in accordance with the Contract requirements.
  2. Reviewing Contractor submittals (e.g. shop drawings, requests for information) for general conformance with the Contract.
  3. Coordinating our site inspection team with ongoing Contractor construction activities.
  4. Supporting in the resolution of construction issues with multiple stakeholders, including the client and their team, the general contractor and their subcontractors, and our own team.
  5. Maintaining construction activity-related records, preparation of reports, and working with the engineering team to coordinate correspondence such as shop drawing reviews, requests for information, and site instructions.
  6. Completing some general site inspection duties (e.g. preparing daily work records/inspection reports).
  7. Participating in construction and commissioning meetings with project stakeholders

This is a hybrid work role, with a combination of work from home, work from site, and work from the office. The relevant construction sites are generally in the Ottawa area, so travel for work is minimal. Given the construction assignments are in Ottawa and there is a requirement to be on-site at times (e.g. construction meetings, site inspections), it is recommended that prospective hires for this role live within a comfortable driving distance of Ottawa.
