The Central Control Organization (CCO) was established to drive enterprise-wide solutions to address deficiencies in Managers Control Assessments (MCA). This includes governance of MCA program health, reporting and execution of procedural requirements. The CCO’s goals are aligned to Operational and Compliance risk reduction by creating a robust control environment, while driving efficiency and consistency
throughout the enterprise.
This role will contribute to enhancing MCA standards, procedures and guidance around which Mexico will align operation of their MCA program. Performing analytics on metrics to provide meaningful insights into that alignment and highlighting concerns within the program execution and health is an integral part of this role. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in the Mexico businesses. A strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in the business and delivery of quality and timely results.
Responsibilities:
Help contribute to governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA, i.e. Risk & Control Self-Assessment) in Mexico as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes.
- Support Mexico MCA team in the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy and Control Inventory as appropriately tied to MCA activities.
- Assist in performing a detailed analysis on the identification of indicators of degradation in the performance in MCA inventory for Mexico when compared to Enterprise level. When root cause are identified, develop recommendations for Mexico corrective actions and improvements for alignment with requirements.
- Provide check and challenge in Mexico’s MCA execution to ensure appropriate escalation in accordance with Citi Governance Policy Issue Management and Escalation Policies.
- Support the Mexico MCA architect activities and processes, on the effective design and management of oversight routines, reporting dashboards, consistent and timely communications, handling deficiencies, and escalating issues for resolution.
- Help contribute to the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of the Mexico MCA program through a robust routine of consistent guidance and support to the FLUs to develop oversight controls & monitoring routines for BAU MCA activities.
- Support in dealing with Operational and Compliance Risk in accordance with established Policy requirements, for alignment of Mexico’s MCA program with Citi Enterprise.
- Assist in navigation of Mexico’s MCA Program tools and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
• 6-10 years of experience.
- MS Excel, MS Access, SAS, SQL, Visual Basic a plus. 5+ years’ experience in financial services
- Proficient with the Manager’s Control Assessment module.
- Experience with IBM Open Pages
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk and control management routines related to Issue Management, Operational Risk Events, Inherent & Residual Risk Assessments, and Control & Monitoring Execution and Documentation
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and influence people at all levels of the organization and across different geographic locations
- Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to comprehend the big pictures with high attention to critical details
- Excellent project management skills
- Has the ability to operate with limited direct supervision.
• Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
