Key job responsibilitiesYou will be responsible for the long term, strategic technical vision for your team. You will lead large initiatives, through design and development, across our high scale, low latency services that power the customer acquisition journey. You will be a mentor to your team, setting the right operational excellence bar. You will work closely with product, UX, and other partner teams to deliver net new experience to the Prime Video experience. You will partner with our Applied Science and Data teams to ship read-time models that influence this experience at a high-scale.A day in the life
You will design and build high throughput and low latency services with Amazon's latest cloud technologies. Your projects will impact our millions of global customers and let them watch the videos they love. You will independently lead new features and understand how to make these features BIG, so they scale – think 1.5MM+ request per second and less than 50ms response time. NFL, Premier League, the Boys are some of the exclusive Prime Video titles you will help our customers view. You will be working with our global teams, and your features will launch on all devices, worldwide.

- Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
