Responsibilities:

• Lead Caramel’s DevOps practice, ensuring the Terraform-based platform is robust, scalable, and maintainable

• Lead Caramel’s Security practice, including efforts to identify, respond to and remediate issues impacting our users or business

• Work with the team to iterate and scale our TypeScript-based Express API running on AWS Lambda and RDS as well as our Nuxt web client to handle increasing traffic and growing business demands

• Drive discovery and solution alignment by evaluating technical options, proposing the best approach, and implementing a development plan

• Lead cross-team initiatives, collaborating with engineering, product, and other collaborators to establish best practices and architectural standards

• Own the full software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to deployment and monitoring

• Develop domain expertise in product capabilities such as Identity Verification and Vehicle Transport, and apply that to solving technical and product challenges

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field, or a combination of education and experience and 8 or more years of software design and relevant experience

• Expertise in building large scale distributed systems and using open source technologies

• Excellent knowledge in practicing OOAD, architectural and design patterns, open-source platforms, frameworks, technologies, and software engineering methodologies

• Hands-on experience in Javascript, Web technologies, RESTful Services, Design Patterns, Databases
