Job Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the approval process for new loans, modifications, risk grades and annual reviews.
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations to business partners and senior management on transactionsduring the prescreen, structuring, approval-to-pitch process.
  • Have a strong understanding of third-party reports, construction loan documents, complex structuring and loan negotiation in order to provide expert guidance and sound judgement throughout the loan closing and monitoring process.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the firm's risk management and control policies and guidelines to ensure compliance and support effective decision-making.
  • Utilize assigned credit authority throughout the loan origination and monitoring phases of assigned portfolio.
  • Closely monitor the commercial real estate industry and overall economic/business environment in order to identify and elevate potential material issues, risks, and trends in the portfolio to Senior Management.
  • Collaborate in periodic portfolio deep dives and reviews with Senior Management.
  • Manage and develop junior Credit Officers and Analysts.
  • Oversee and drive ad hoc risk-related projects and workflows.
  • Drive efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation while embracing innovative opportunities offered by new technologies.
  • Collaborate and communicate with external and internal stakeholders

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8+ years in a similar banking or credit role, with a track record of exceeding performance expectations.
  • Proven superior skills in commercial real estate transaction structuring, complex finance structures, negotiating, credit analysis, and portfolio managementwith experience synthesizing information, developing recommendations, making decisions, and problem solving
  • Advanced knowledge of the commercial real estate industry and the commensurate capital and financial markets.
  • Superior understanding of real estate market dynamics and economic drivers.
  • Outstanding professional reputation and integrity.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and train a team.
  • Strong presentation, business writing, and communication skills.
