As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing cloud solutions that meet our client’s business needs, across the major cloud providers. You will be responsible for leading workshops, designing best-practice architectures, and deploying resources using the latest Infrastructure as Code (IaC) techniques. Your excellent communication and presentation skills will be crucial in liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement innovative cloud and hybrid solutions, ensuring they meet security, performance, availability, cost, and scalability needs.

• Lead capability and requirements workshops to inform architecture development.

• Incorporating ISM and security best practices across architecture and technical delivery while enabling strategic business outcomes.

• Produce high-quality architecture and network designs, as well as accompanying documentation.

• Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to translate technology problems and solutions.

• Present technical considerations and architecture options to non-technical audiences with clarity and confidence.

• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in cloud computing to ensure our solutions remain contemporary and best practice.

• Implement Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment techniques for Azure resources.

What we’re looking for

Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.

• Extensive experience in cloud engineering and architecture in a commercial Hyperscaler platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).

• In-depth understanding of infrastructure, DevSecOps and integration technologies.

• Solid foundation in networking, security, and best practices for cloud deployments

• Strong presentation skills and the ability to discuss technical topics with non-technical audiences.

• Experience in architecting cloud platforms, considering all aspects of cloud solution design.

• Experience in running workshops and developing cloud architectures.

• Proficiency in creating detailed cloud architecture/network diagrams and documentation.

• Familiarity with at least one backend programming language (e.g., C#, Java, Golang).

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated deployment tools such as Terraform.

• Exposure to OpenStack / VMWare or other hybrid virtualization technologies is beneficial.
