What will you do:

• Work with technical leaders to design the workflow and processes for OpenShift Sustaining Engineering at Red Hat.

• Work closely with multiple engineering teams around the world to build a Sustaining Engineering Team with deep technical knowledge of the core parts of our OpenShift Container Platform.

• Lead your team by using Open Management Principles, build and guide career development and enablement plans, provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to your team.

• Ensure that operations and processes are efficient and scalable to support the growth of long term maintenance of Red Hat products.

• Help peer managers understand the capabilities and capacity of your team and to jointly plan our ability to deliver future improvements.

• Promote and guide continuous professional and personal development of all team members including customer-centric mindset and enhanced problem solving capabilities.

• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Business Units, Product Security, Quality Engineering, and Documentation groups as well as field teams like Sales function, Solution Architects and Services teams.

• Maintain knowledge of current technologies and business trends to provide appropriate evaluation of each situation

• Deliver against key success metrics driving the success of the Sustaining Engineering Team Targets.

• Act as an adviser to our leaders as well as associates to meet schedules and resolve business problems.

What will you bring:

• 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams.

• Experience building and scaling new teams.

• Ability to collaborate across product business unit, quality engineering, documentation teams

• Solid analytical skills and applied knowledge of a problem-solving process with a process and data mindset.

• Demonstrated ability to tackle novel challenges and experience in bringing clarity to situations where ambiguity exists.

• Understanding of Red Hat products and the technologies they are built on.

The following are considered a plus:

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Familiarity with enterprise software development, open source development models, and enterprise software build and release (productization) processes.

• Understanding of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, containers, and Kubernetes.

• Adept at communicating with and influencing engineers and managers.
