What you will do

• Develop features and bug fixes in Kubernetes and OpenShift within an agile team, working on Kueue, LeaderWorkSet and JobSet

• Become responsible for our product quality, participate in peer code reviews, continuous integration and delivery, respond to security threats

• Act as a point of escalation for customer and internal teams

• Participate in architectural discussions of system designs, programming interfaces, and inter-dependencies of control plane, operators, CI, etc., both in the Kubernetes upstream communities and the OpenShift project

• Ensure that there are test plans for the code you create and that documentation is correct

• Collaborate with other engineering teams on integrations

• Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment

What you will bring

• Good understanding of Linux operating system

• Knowledge of working with Go programming language

• Experience building and deploying container-based applications

• Understanding Kubernetes architecture

• Understanding of how Open Source and Free Software communities work

Following is considered a plus

• Experience troubleshooting complex issues in distributed systems

• Demonstrable expertise in at least one of Python, C, C++, Rust, Ruby

• Experience with Kubernetes and writing operators

• Experience in developing client tools and controllers using Kubernetes libraries

• Experience with development for public cloud services (AWS, GCE, Azure)

• Ability to present to customers and stakeholders

• Previous contributions to open source projects or being an open source maintainer

• Involvement in a Kubernetes or Kubernetes Special Interest Group
