Job Description:

As a Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the short- and long-term strategies for Venmo, delivering on key portfolio objectives and metrics, supporting the product teams with launches of features, services and value propositions that drive customer demand and delivering services on continuous improvements across Venmo. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including analytics, marketers, and legal experts, to ensure the success of our products and to innovate new solutions from the ground up.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and help formulate the vision and strategy of both Venmo that aligns with company objectives and strategies
  • Create business cases to inform decision making on initiatives tied to the goals of the business
  • Participate in supporting the planning and product roadmap development cycles, including prioritization discussions
  • Manage one or more commercial products, monitor commercial performance and report on challenges, opportunities and changes
  • Act as the commercial representative to stakeholders and peers across PayPal, effectively communicating business strategies, priorities and related key performance indicators and metrics
  • Identify and capitalize on new opportunities through comprehensive research, analysis of industry trends, and implementation of best practices.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure successful product launches.
  • Monitor product performance, gather customer feedback, and implement improvements to enhance user experience and drive commercial success.
  • Stay informed about competitive products and industry developments to maintain PayPal's leadership position in the market.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in developing and managing commercial strategies and products, preferably within the financial services or fintech industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial product development and lifecycle management
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Strong, effective communication and presentation skills
  • A passion for innovation and a customer-centric mindset
