Job Description:

As Income Tax Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. The person will work both within Tax and across Finance. This position requires a self-starter who will handle a variety of U.S. Tax provision and U.S. income tax return activities. The successful candidate should be comfortable analyzing data and balancing multiple competing priorities. The role will require flexibility to work in various time zones.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Preparing reconciliations of tax-related accounts.
  • Working with the Global Tax and Finance teams to support the U.S. income tax provision, U.S. Federal income tax return, and U.S. state income tax return processes.
  • Preparing accounting entries and performing period-end activities.
  • Performing balance sheet account flux/comparisons to identify and analyze significant variations.
  • Initiating and developing process improvements and automation projects.
  • Engaging in obtaining and developing additional income tax and accounting knowledge.
  • Consolidating and monitoring cash income tax forecasts.
  • Partnering with Global Tax and Finance process teams to coordinate tax provision activities and deliverables.
  • Continuously evaluating processes, implementing learnings, and applying best practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

  • University degree in finance, accounting, tax, or a related field
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • At least 5 years of work experience in tax
  • Advanced proficiency in English
  • Proficient in MS Excel and significant knowledge of SAP
  • Good oral/written communication skills.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Knowledge of tax accounting under U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with U.S. income tax returns
