Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Tax, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in Tax. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Law, Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Tax, or a related field and 4 years of work experience in Tax.Must have 4 years of indirect tax experience in any of the following: an industry position; at a professional services firm; mid-size/regional to large-size/national accounting firm; law firm; and/or a state department of revenue, providing sales and use tax advice.Must have 4 years experience in demonstrating understanding and professional knowledge in a broad range of sales and use tax processes and concepts.Must have 4 years of experience with technical research in a tax context and drafting succinct summaries including tax advice in email or memo form.Must have 4 years of experience gathering and modifying data including experience Microsoft Excel.Must have 2 years experience serving in a supervisory role to at least two junior staff members.Must have 2 years of experience providing clear direction to staff members in a broad range of sales and use tax processes including at least 3 of the following: review of monthly use tax accruals for required adjustments; periodic refund recoveries; sales and use tax audit processes and procedures; reviewing invoices for tax determination accuracy; preparing sales and use tax returns; and/or reviewing sales reviewed for identification of triggering nexus in various tax jurisdictions.Must have 2 years of experience supervising tax engagements, including engagement-related budgeting and billing, serving as a primary point of contact for clients, and escalating issues to tax partners or executives as needed.Must have at least one of the following or be eligible to obtain within 1 year of hire: active CPA certification; US State Bar license; CMI designation in sales and use tax issued by the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.Requires domestic travel up to 50% travel to serve client needs.Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training.
