As an Entry/Junior level Munitions Response Geophysicist, you’ll collaborate with other experienced scientists, engineers, and project managers to solve our clients’ most challenging environmental & engineering issues.

orking alongside a strong team in the Munitions Response practice, you'll help the team design, execute and manage geophysical investigations to support Site Inspections, Remedial Investigations, Remedial Designs, Remedial Actions and more. You’ll help develop novel technical approaches for proposals and projects; interpret conventional and advanced geophysical data in Oasis Montaj and other data analysis platforms; prepare and review Munitions Response planning and reporting documents; prepare and review geophysical and other subcontractor procurements and interact with internal team players.

Traveling to project sites you’ll capture field data; adhere to quality control guidelines, submit daily reports, coordinate with site management, safety and UXO personnel and participate in safe/best practices to contribute to the success of the project. You’ll also have the opportunity to interact with client-side geophysicists and coordinate other technical resources

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in geophysics, geology or closely related technical field.
  • Experience in collecting and processing of land-based geophysical data which may include including seismic, EM, GPR, magnetic, gravity or resistivity for geotechnical and/or environmental applications.
  • Working knowledge applying specific data processing and data collection software.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (estimated up to 60%) and sometimes for extended periods of time.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience with vehicle-towed land geophysical surveys.
  • Familiarity with common data processing software.
  • Coding skills with one or more programming languages/environments, such as Python, MATLAB.
  • Willingness to support other Jacobs’ operations that might not be related to munitions response geophysics as schedule permits.
