Job Description:
Bank of America is looking for a Program Manager who has prior experience in Market Risk or Global Markets middle/back office technology. This is a multi-disciplinary role that will require the successful candidate to take on numerous diverse responsibilities and will necessitate close partnership with senior business and technology managers. The ideal candidate will have a background in working closely with development teams. A program manager is expected to have a broad understanding of all the projects within the program and be able to ensure timelines and milestones are met. They are expected to provide direction and guidance to project managers to ensure success of the work within the program.
This individual will:
Have direct delivery responsibility for their projects (i.e. end to end ownership of the program)
Have oversight of all projects within the program and be responsible for recognizing when individual projects may be off track
Identify risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID) and proactively manage/report RAIDs.
Prepare status reports and other materials needed for presenting for tech management as well as LOB executive audiences and other stakeholders
Consistently meet with project managers to understand progress and issues across projects and provide support as necessary
Job Description:
This job is responsible for planning and coordinating the execution of project/small program deliverables which requires the engagement of multiple teams. Key responsibilities include communicating work objectives, coordinating delivery, facilitating sync points across teams, providing end-to-end visibility into the health of the deliverables, and managing program risk and compliance to standards. Job expectations include ensuring delivery meets the client’s expectations in terms of the functionality, quality, timeline, and cost.
Responsibilities:
Leads and coordinates routines to support delivery (for example, kick-offs, status reviews, stakeholder meetings, change controls, and tollgates, etc.)
Manages coordination of delivery and dependencies across multiple teams
Facilitates communication and collaboration across organizations to support the deliverable completion and timeline
Provides status updates for the deliverables to stakeholders and leadership pertaining to delivery, risks, issues, and schedule
Works with sponsors and stakeholders to ensure that execution is aligned with deliverable requirements
Supports resource planning for delivery and execution
Ensures adherence with Enterprise Change Management standards
Required Qualifications:
A flexible, hardworking and "can do" attitude; comfortable working in a fast paced environment with frequent release cycles and rapidly changing priorities.
Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate within a multi-disciplined team, across multiple locations and time zones, and to interact with demanding business users.
Strong ownership and follow through.
Strong project management and organization skills, attention to details.
Familiarity with principles of scaled agile delivery, PI planning, and agile scrum methodology
Ability to remove obstacles and influence others to move projects forward.
Strong financial markets product knowledge, market risk experience (any asset class).
Excellent technical skills; SQL, MS Excel, Jira, SharePoint, Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
Desired Qualifications:
Computer Engineering/Financial Degree
Experience with Agile methodologies.
Experience with VaR, Risk Analytics would be a definite advantage
Exposure to financial / product control functions within a bank.
Exposure to Program Project Risk Tool (PPRT)
