This job role will have expertise in managing and operating IT hardware, software, communications, and/or application solutions, and the resources required to plan for, develop, deliver, and support properly engineered IT services and products to meet the needs of a business. Focus on Take-out projects, replacing competitor softwares to IBM solutions on Z.
The scope of this job role includes preparation for new or changed services, management of the change process, and maintenance of regulatory, legal, and professional standards, management of performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance, and management of bought-in services including, for example, public network, virtual private network, and outsourced services.
Typical examples of the deliverables are service-level reporting, risk, and contingency planning.Your Role and Responsibilities

• Professional knowledge related to incumbent’s function/business unit and its processes.
• Recognize complex problems related to functional objectives. Analyze situations and implement solutions, or develop new system elements, procedures or processes. Creativity and judgment applied to developmental work on different projects within the business environment.
• Provides ongoing technical /operational guidance to lead professional work teams, conducts special projects, or manages department(s) (national or international). Understand department/ functional mission and vision. Defines and decides objectives within specified business concept or project and may have responsibility for tools and assigned resources. Utilizes expertise to directly influence people outside department or function.
• Accountable for department results and for activities and/or projects involving multi- functional teams. Regularly participates in overall functional program planning. Activities are subject to business measurements, impact customer satisfaction, and impact project costs or expenses.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Must have extensive experience working as a System programmer and/or DBA for DB2 z/OS and with desirable knowledge of the IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS (IDAA) product.
• DB2 for z/OS system programmer skills:
• Installation and migration of DB2 (desirable).
• Maintenance tasks (apply PTFs, RSUs, hold data review, knowledge of SMPE and OMVS).
• Subsystem restart and recovery procedures and process.
• Subsystem performance analysis (use and analysis of DB2 OMEGAMON reports or equivalent).
• Knowledge of DB2 data sharing (concepts, implementation, performance analysis, problem determination, restart & recovery).
• Knowledge of DB2 security as well as basic z/OS RACF concepts.
• DB2 for z/OS DBA skills:
• Creation and maintenance of DB2 objects, database modeling.
• Knowledge of DB2 utilities (COPY, LOAD, REORG, RUNSTATS, etc).
• Desired knowledge of DB2 application/SQL performance tuning.
• Experience with zLinux.
• Experience with REXX develop.
• Experience with Stored Procedure develop.
• Working experience with Batch/Online programs.
• Experience of working with COBOL programs.
• Experience with cross platform data movement and integration.
• Experience with DB2 LUW.
• Fluent level of English
