S4 Finance Transformation Technical Lead

Job Description:

PayPal is seeking a seasoned and results-oriented Senior Director Finance Transformation Leader to lead our S4 Finance transformation efforts. As a technical leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our finance function by spearheading the implementation and optimization of SAP S/4 HANA Finance. This position will report to VP, Finance Technology & Insights.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive S4 Finance transformation strategy, aligned with overall business objectives.
• Lead and manage a team of technical specialists, including system architects, developers, and configuration experts and provide oversight to the implementation partner.
• Provide deep technical expertise on S/4 HANA Finance, including core finance modules, Central Finance, Group Reporting, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Design, configure, and implement S/4 Finance solutions that streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
• Manage project lifecycles, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and go-live support with implementation partner.
• Oversee change management activities to ensure user adoption and successful transition to the new system.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for ongoing optimization.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with the S4 Finance transformation program.
• Stay abreast of the latest S/4 HANA innovations and best practices.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including SAP vendors and partners.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in finance transformation and/or ERP implementations.
• Proven track record of leading and delivering complex technical projects on time and within budget.
• Deep understanding of SAP S/4 HANA Finance, including core modules, Central Finance, Group Reporting, and SAC.
• Strong technical skills in system configuration, data migration, and integration.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Leadership presence and the ability to influence in matrix environment
• Proven ability to manage project budgets and technical resources effectively
• Certifications in SAP S/4 HANA Finance or related modules
• Ability to deliver executive level updates and determine when to escalate to management and identify the right stakeholders for decision making.
• Ability to work globally and cross-functionally to lead change in a fast-paced environment.
