In this role, you will shape the future, deliver impact and unlock potential via:

Be a Strategy Architect

  • Lead a cross-country leadership team to achieve strategic objectives that will deliver both short-term and long-term business outcomes, ensuring relevance to the local market environment and Enterprise priorities.
  • Translate strategic priorities, aligned with regional and global strategies, into measurable actions and implementable outcomes, both in public and private segments.

Shape the Environment and be a Spokesperson

  • Effectively engage external stakeholders either directly or via industry or business communities to shape market environments to the benefit of our company and patients served.
  • Effectively communicate on behalf of the company in external forums or via media.

Be a Reputational Steward and Enterprise Leader

  • Role model and uphold our company values and standards to ensure compliance across all functions and levels.
  • Independently make decisions which prioritize Enterprise value creation over market / divisional needs
  • Foster collaboration within Country, GCC organization, and beyond, across different functions and divisions.

Be a Commercial Leader and Own P&L

  • Manage P&L for the country, making operational choices that impact both short and long-term financial outcomes and taking accountability for those choices.
  • Understand and develop meaningful insights about market environments and business drivers, formulate strategies and plans to unleash opportunities, and ensure execution through resource allocation and organizational adaptation.
  • Directly, or via the team, identify, understand, engage, build trust with, and influence the perceptions and behaviors of our customers.

Be a Business Continuity Leader

  • Lead market-level business continuity governance groups to ensure both forward looking planning and preparation in addition to coordinating potential crisis management

Be a People and Culture Leader

  • Develop and deliver a compelling, aspirational organizational narrative which connects both the strategic direction and daily work to our Enterprise purpose and the patients we serve.
  • Role model and advocate for our Enterprise Ways-Of-Working and create a psychologically safe and collaborative culture where all employees feel respected, valued, and included.

Be an Organizational Architect and Own Talent

  • Design and adapt organizational structures to ensure current capabilities are deployed effectively and that future capability needs are being developed proactively taking into account Enterprise, portfolio, and local operating environment needs.

Be a Talent Owner

  • Identify, attract, coach, develop, and retain a diverse portfolio of talent.
  • Role model good individual and team management practices to ensure positive engagement and productivity. Prioritize and lead our people management processes
  • Articulate a clear and compelling talent vision for the market.
  • Coach, grow and develop senior leaders in all relevant leadership and functional skills

REQUIREMENTS

  • The ideal candidate should have proven leadership experience (+15 years) in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, in a senior management capacity, including several years in marketing/commercial roles.
  • Successfully led, or played a significant role in, the development of market, business unit or functional department strategic priorities.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing cross-functional teams and working across diverse workstreams.
  • Directly and successfully led complex and cross-functional projects.
  • Experience in working collaboratively across the Enterprise, demonstrate behaviors and actions which prioritize what is best for the Enterprise.
  • Demonstrated independent decision making, integrity and accountability for results.
  • Has a track record of success in recruiting and developing diverse talent and driving a culture where talent development is a visible component of overall organizational focus.
  • Has successful experience in managing managers, has led full annual people management process.
  • Successfully managed a P&L for a business or function and has experience of making independent choices aimed at delivering sustained value creation.
  • Has a solid experience in analyzing markets / customer segments, formulating commercial strategies, and executing campaigns to drive business outcomes; experience working closely with, or within, functions that focus on core customer segments
  • Led teams to develop both incremental and innovative solutions that have unlocked new commercial opportunities or addressed barriers.
  • Experience in building and maintaining an inclusive environment through responding to feedback both direct and via employee surveys
  • Strong understanding of compliance, role modelling ethical behavior, with the ability to evaluate the risks and opportunities
  • Preferrable experience on a market beyond your home market / Saudi Arabia, with an appreciation of what it takes to succeed in diverse cultures and complex health care systems
  • Understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and regulatory environment in Saudi Arabia / GCC
  • Fluent English. Spoken Arabic would be an advantage
  • The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Relocation support will be provided if needed.
