Role Overview:

The Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring our organization adheres to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and in-house policies. This role involves analysing legal and regulatory standards, assisting with the compilation and maintenance of a compliance universe, the development of policies and procedures and providing guidance to the organization to proactively manage compliance-related issues. You will also be responsible for assessing business compliance with laws, regulations and policies. A great Compliance Manager is well-versed in legal guidelines and corporate governance best practices. They are professionals of high ethical standards and work diligently to complete their duties keeping in mind the objectives of the business. They must be comfortable saying “no” when necessary and be result-oriented.

The Compliance Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring our organization adheres to legal and regulatory requirements and mitigates risks.

Job Description:

  • Assist with the compilation and maintenance of a compliance universe, the development of policies and procedures and provide guidance to the organization to proactively manage compliance-related issues.
  • Assess and report on business compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies.
  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously.
  • Revise procedures, reports, etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
  • Draft, modify, and implement company policies.
  • Collaborate with Risk, General Counsel and HR departments to monitor the enforcement of standards and regulations.
  • Assess the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks.
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on their obligations.

Qualification

  • Compliance Management Qualification required
  • Legal qualification optional

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Compliance Manager or Compliance Officer.
  • Experience in Risk Management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong Planning and organisational skills
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Compliance is imperative
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards would be useful
