Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning, Alignment and Execution:
    • Collaborate with the Consumer Engineering senior leadership to execute the engineering strategy.
    • Ensure alignment of engineering initiatives with PayPal’s business goals to drive the execution of key initiatives andprojects.
    • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions and innovation.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Consumer Engineering team and ensure efficiency and productivity.
    • Implement and refine processes to enhance operational effectiveness & projectdelivery.
    • Track and report on key performance metrics and project milestones.
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing business operations & workforce planning team.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Manage resource allocation, project prioritization and team performance.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments across PayPal, including Technology, product management, marketing, and sales.
    • Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and vendors.

Technical Skills:

  • A clear understanding of multiple disciplines within the Technology organization such as:
  • SoftwareDevelopment/ProgrammingLanguages
  • Data Management
  • Architecture
  • Program Management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a strategic executive support role working within a Technology organization. At least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Ability to bring a self-starter approach to working in a highly cross-functional team amidst ambiguity is required.
  • Proven track record of managing large, complex engineering projects.
  • A strong understanding of finance and prior experience managing a P&L for a team or organization are required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • High attention to detail, even under urgent or high-pressure circumstances.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of a busy executive and their direct staff.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in FinTech or consumer technology industry.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).

The US national annual pay range for this role is $169,500 to $291,500
