Manager – Tax Controversy

As our Manager – Tax Controversy, you will advise clients on a broad range of tax matters with a focus on the technical and tactical management of ATO reviews and engagement. Your key responsibilities include:
- Advise a range of clients, from large corporates to high-net-worth individuals, contributing to the development and implementation of tax strategies and solutions for client.
- Research a range of tax matters including tax administration and international tax matters.
- Get involved in dispute resolution processes and help clients respond to requests for information in the context of ATO reviews and audits.
- Draft various documents including objections, private binding ruling requests, requests for amended assessments and submissions in relation to penalties.
- Collaborate with partners and staff across different geographies to maintain connectivity and visibility.
What we’re looking for

- Law degree and admission to practice law in Australia with 4+ years PQE
- Strong tax technical and legal research skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with a number of different clients and internal stakeholders on multiple deadlines
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience in tax advisory or tax controversy in a Big 4 firm, law firm or similar environment
- Problem solving abilities and a focus on solutions
- Willingness to learn and become involved in a range of different types of work
