The Role
A successful candidate will be passionate about production, self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, team player, able to pivot when necessary, thorough, and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on organization and unwavering attention to detail at all times. This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires someone who is a proactive and positive thinker, and able to exercise good judgment and communication.
Responsibilities:
  • Work in tandem with production and post executives to onboard and support Nonfiction Sports productions at Netflix.
  • Administrative responsibilities such as managing incoming and outgoing calls and messages, recording calls, setting meetings, updating schedules, taking notes, generating decks for presentations, preparing thorough agendas prior to meetings, and ensuing follow-ups as needed.
  • Create and coordinate document distribution and production information workflow, schedules, and production resources, with emphasis on updating, maintaining, and championing the use of technology and databases.
  • Audit all deliveries from productions throughout the entire length of development through final delivery.
  • Track incoming cut deliveries and ratify against published schedules.
  • Keeping a close eye on evolving technologies and determining how to incorporate them into production/post-workflows.
  • ­In collaboration with inter­departmental Netflix production and post teams, develop and update production/post “best practices” and refine evolving film production guidelines to deliver to filmmakers
  • Perform special project research for production executives as needed.
  • Assist and curate a diverse contact database of top-performing nonfiction freelance staff, crew, and vendors.
  • Any other duties as necessary to support the productions and the department.
Qualifications:
  • 3 + years of hands­-on production/post-management in nonfiction production. Candidates will likely be at the production coordinator level equivalent outside of Netflix.
  • Ability to respond after hours for important, timely, or urgent matters.
  • A high-performance team­player who operates efficiently and with empathy in a fast-paced team-oriented setting.
  • Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information.
  • Understanding how to prioritize and respond accordingly in the best interest of the team.
  • Willingness to continue learning to ensure understanding of current production/post processes.
  • Strong understanding of traditional production/post schedules and paperwork.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi­task.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Mail, and proficiency in Slack. Familiarity with Movie Magic Budgeting and Scheduling beneficial but not required.
  • BA/BS Degree
or equivalent experience.
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000 - $245,000.
