Manager, Project Management - Content Marketing (Hybrid)

As a Manager of Project Management at Capital One, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the company. General Responsibilities:

  • Leading moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports

  • Designing, developing, and managing multiple concurrent project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements plus ensuring dependencies and risks are identified, communicated, mitigated and/or escalated as needed

  • Serving as a work lead and coach for more junior Project Managers in the team

  • Ensure scope of deliverables and timelines are met both for projects managed directly and through their project management team

  • Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk, report project status consistently to stakeholders and reduce risk of delays in delivery

  • Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent

  • Partnering cross-functionally with project contributors and stakeholders such as legal, compliance, brand creative, tech, and the business to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

  • Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

  • Proactively identify ways to improve and streamline processes and instill a culture of continuous improvement in their team

This person will:

  • Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project/program efforts and build productive relationships with partner leaders and stakeholders to remove impediments for their team

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place even in ambiguity to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

  • Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style

  • Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in Project Management, Process Management or Product Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or MBA

  • 6+ years of Project Management experience

  • 2+ years of Agile experience

  • 2+ years of experience managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams and developing creative optimization frameworks

  • 2+ years experience with website project management and familiarity with Content Management Systems (i.e. Bloomreach, Contentful, Wordpress)

  • 1+ years of experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • 1+ years of People Management experience

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills

McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Manager, Project Management Richmond, VA: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Project ManagementThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
