In this role, with your passion for developing others, you will deliver a defined curriculum program for tenured technical learners on their journey to become software development engineers. This multi-modal training program (AWS Tech U) combines instructor led training, lab exercises, scenario-based coding challenges, and more to develop and build software developments skills. In this role, you will need to be an excellent communicator, and it is expected that you will have the ability to work well with peers and learners.
Key job responsibilities
• Utilize best practices in adult learning theory to facilitate interactive class discussions/activities, answer learner questions, and provide personalized guidance
• Provide continuous feedback on course materials to keep pace with the rapid evolution of software development methdologies, languages and tools
• Collaborate with the Tech U team to review and refine training content, lesson plans, coding challenges, instructional video, and hands-on experiences
• Foster a strong sense of community among learners by encouraging collaboration, providing encouragement, and creating an inclusive learning environment
• Demonstrate exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to break down complex technical topics into clear, easy-to-understand terms
• Stay up-to-date on the latest AWS developer services and generative AI developments to maintain subject matter expertise
• Provide exceptional learner support, ensuring all learners receive the guidance they need to achieve their goalsAbout the team

• Several years of experience in a training role, preferably technical training for software development engineering
• Advanced knowledge of various programming languages and associated tools (Java, Javasript, Python, HTML, CSS)
• Advanced knowledge of various software development concepts (object oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, application security, building applications at scale, API development Coding Pipelines and CI/CD)
• Technical Degree (i.e. Computer Science, Information Systems) or relevant work experience
• Must have excellent stand–up delivery and facilitation skills and strong “stage presence” that drive key learning outcomes and motivate application beyond the classroom.
• 3-5 years experience as a back-end software development engineer, software architect or data analyst
• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure services
• Experience designing and developing instructor-led content with technical subject matter content.
• Java SE8 Certified or higher
Excellent project management skills and attention to detail - able to implement globally, and at scale
• Excellent oral presentation skills, interpersonal communication, and writing skills
• Ability to travel (~30%)
