Role Type Aws Infra Engineer
You will serve as the first point of contact for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests, executing standard operating procedures (SOPs), fulfilling requests, troubleshooting AWS services, and coordinating escalations to product teams (L3). This role focuses on ensuring efficient incident resolution, request management, and service stability in alignment with ITSM best practices.
Your key responsibilities
- Provide first-line AWS infrastructure support, responding to incidents and fulfilling service requests.
- Categorize and triage incidents, ensuring proper documentation and assignment in ITSM tools.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and runbooks to resolve common infrastructure issues and ensure service continuity.
- Categorize and prioritize incidents, adjusting severity levels as required and reassigning tickets to the correct product team when escalation is needed.
- Participate in shift handovers and team meetings to ensure smooth knowledge transfer and continuity of ongoing incidents.
- Assist in maintaining AWS asset inventory and conducting compliance-related checks as part of routine infrastructure operations.
- Collaborate with L3 product teams for knowledge transfer, issue resolution, and to improve incident handling efficiency.
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for cloud infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, IAM, Secrets Manager, and KMS.
- Understanding of networking basics in AWS, including VPCs, security groups, and load balancers.
- Familiarity with incident response and ITSM processes.
- Ability to follow structured troubleshooting guides and escalate issues when necessary.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for incident tracking and knowledge sharing.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Experience in infrastructure operations support (L1/L2) with AWS cloud technologies.
- 1-3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure support or IT operations.
- Hands-on exposure to AWS IAM, EC2, networking, and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM tools for incident tracking.
- Willingness to work in a 24x7 rotational shift-based support environment.
