Job responsibilities:

  • Provide operational risk guidance and analysis for new business/products/initiatives/M&A.
  • Identify, assess, advise, and drive strategic solutions to increase efficiency and create a more resilient operating environment.
  • Ensure effectiveness of key controls and lead communications with regulatory and audit bodies, both internally and externally.
  • Oversee governance of business operational risks, escalating issues appropriately to line of business and Firmwide operating committees.
  • Collaborate with senior business clients and partners across functional areas (e.g., Legal, Finance, Compliance, Risk) and geographies.
  • Provide comprehensive and consistent reporting of exams, issues, priorities, and commitments to increase transparency.
  • Enforce best exam management practices and increase transparency and accountability: e.g. providing guidance related to exam management responses.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities:

  • Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create, and evaluate a Risk, Control, or overall CORE structure.
  • Experience with and knowledge of the Business Banking and applicable regulations.
  • Demonstrate confident leadership and sound judgment to influence a strong culture and risk management with the ability to make subjective and informed decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations that will drive opportunities / recommendation for improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner.
  • Solid critical thinking, attention to detail and analytical skills; able to synthesize large amounts of data & formulate appropriate conclusions and able to understand a process and associated risk to inform control design.
  • Flexible, adaptable to shifting priorities; manages competing priorities to achieve the most effective result and able to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
