Lead the design and construction of test hardware and software for electronic medical devices and components at the GE Healthcare Repair Operations Center (ROC) in Oak Creek, WI. This position works within the engineering team with other test engineers, project managers and technicians. Scope of work includes developing requirements, design, source, build, and qualification of hardware and software, as well as support of existing test systems. Because this is a repair center, devices include technologies old and new. Must be able to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities while meeting commitments.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and construction of test hardware and software, including the development of test requirements and qualification of systems
  • Troubleshoot existing test equipment hardware and software breakdown
  • Author technical design documents including Equipment Requirement Specification, Design Qualification, Equipment Qualification
  • Coach engineering technicians in equipment build, use, work instructions development, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure safe manufacturing practices through implementation of design controls
  • Use technical skills, expertise, and analytical thinking to solve problems

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and at least 3 years’ experience in an electronics industry, or associate’s degree and 5 years’ experience in an electronics industry
  • Background in test development or troubleshooting of complex electronic systems
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience coding in Visual Basic, Lab View, and Test Stand
  • Experience working with low voltage, analog, digital, and high voltage equipment
  • Established planning or project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in self-directed situations with high levels of ambiguity
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
