The
Building Automation Service Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote, build, and maintain good customer relations
- Test, inspect, calibrate, and verify system and peripheral devices. Testing to be performed according to all applicable standards and codes
- Perform product and software installation and upgrades
- Understand, implement, and repair building network topologies including, but not limited to, BacNET, Cbus, Modbus, and LON
- Verify system functional performance to ensure proper operations according to contract requirements and shop drawings/sequence of operations, etc.
- Respond to Emergency Service Calls as required, in accordance with customer contract deliverables.
- May require some performance of duties outside of normal working hours as required.
You Must Have :
- 3 years’ firsthand experience with building automation/mechanics, security, fire or HVAC.
- 1 year experience using Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid Canadian driver’s license
- Willingness to travel within Canada up to 10% of the time
We Value :
- CFAA certification and/or CET certification is a definite asset
- Technical College Diploma related to electro-mechanics, electrical engineering technologies or automated systems
- Strong comprehension of Windows Operating Systems including Windows Networking
- Knowledge of programming of automation system
- Honeywell Installed Systems Product knowledge e.g. EBI, XL5000, CARE, ComfortPoint, XLS3000, PCs and general network knowledge. (For HVAC TECH).
- Knowledge of Fire alarm system codes, NFPA guidelines, devices used and functions for FA applications. Honeywell products knowledge e.g. XLS140/3000, EBI, XLS1000, FS90. (For FIRE ALARM TECH).
- Knowledge of Security systems, access control, CCTV, Digital Video and controlling software. Honeywell Product knowledge e.g. EBI/DVM, Access, CCTV, TEMALINE (For SECURITY TECH).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and diagrams.
- Testing, calibrating and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and get things done.
- Communication skills sufficient to deal with co-workers, customers and contractors.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
